Guilden Morden Community Pub Ltd
Proud Owners of The Three Tuns in Guilden Morden, South Cambridgeshire
Welcome to the GMCP Ltd Website
Guilden Morden Community Pub Ltd (GMCP) was established in 2017 as a Community Benefit Society (CBS) incorporated under the Cooperative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014. It is owned and managed by the community for the benefit of the community.
GMCP was formed in order to:
-
Raise funds to purchase the freehold of and refurbish The Three Tuns pub in Guilden Morden.
-
Lease the property to a tenant who will reopen and operate the pub as a successful long-term business.
-
Ensure through the lease terms that The Three Tuns remains a social hub for the wider benefit of the community.
GMCP currently has over 310 shareholders, most of whom live locally, and its constitution is based on the model rules provided by the Plunkett Foundation, a charitable organisation that supports community cooperatives in rural areas. As a CBS, each investor has an equal vote irrespective of the size of their investment and no individual is able to make a capital profit from their investment. GMCP is run by a management committee consisting of twelve shareholders.
